Our History

From Northern Italy

La Dolda was born out of our desire to share the delicious dishes prepared by the many generations of our family in our Italian country house, called La Dolda. Located in the region of Emilia-Romagna, famous for fresh pasta and the birth place of the Bolognese sauce, the home was a summer retreat for the family and a place to gather over delicious meals of fresh pasta and local produce.

Meet the Family

Matteo Gallizio is passionate about pasta, and only the best will do. A fourth generation food industry executive, Matteo first created a successful gelato business in Italy. Married to the lovely Alessandra, a doctor focused on healthy eating, they are raising their family on quality natural foods, especially pasta. Matteo is returning to his love of pasta, bringing his expertise, ingredient sources, kitchen tools and quality obsession to the founding of La Dolda.
